The coast to the north of Portoferraio features concealed beaches which are true gems. Capo Bianco Beach is undoubtedly one of these. Surrounded by tall, wild white cliffs, its waters are crystal-clear and limpid, especially on days with a Sirocco wind. Diving in these waters with such a marvellous, striking landscape is certain to enchant every visitor.
Like Ghiaie, Cala dei Frati and Padulella, this beach also forms part of the Portoferraio marine nature reserve, and its waters are therefore particularly rich in fish. It consists of white shingle mixed with coarse sand, which create breath-taking reflected colours in the water.
It can be reached by simply taking the road from Portoferraio towards Enfola Viticcio. About 250 metres from Hotel Acquamarina on Viale Einaudi, you will find a well signed right turn which soon ends at a very large car park (charge payable). From here, steps lead down to the beach. During this short walk, you will be able to admire the dazzling white cliffs against the blue of the sea.
Otherwise, if you are on Padulella beach, a path leading from the left end of the beach, before the rocks, will bring you to the car park next to Capo Bianco beach in just a few minutes.
Umbrellas and pedal boats are available for hire on Capo Bianco Beach.
